Attorney Fax has been practicing law in the Washington, D.C., area and Maryland since 1974. His legal career includes 17 years as a senior litigation, commercial and trial partner, co-chair of the litigation department and member of the firm's executive committee at Baltimore-based Shapiro Sher Guinot & Sandler. Prior to that he was based in Washington, D.C. — first at Chapman, Duff & Paul and later at Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur. Mr. Fax joined Rifkin, Livingston, Levitan & Silver as Counsel in 2006 and became a partner in 2010.
Noted accomplishments: In 2006, Washington Smart CEO Magazine named Mr. Fax one of Greater Washington's "Legal Elite." Attorney Fax is profiled in both Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law, and he was named both a Maryland Super Lawyer and Washington, D.C., Super Lawyer (2009-2011). Mr. Fax has held an AV* rating for many years.

Attorney Fax concentrates his legal practice in assisting commercial and business entities, as well as professionals, with complex civil litigation. These matters can range from executive employment disputes, business fraud and securities litigation to constitutional and civil rights litigation and business defamation.
Mr. Fax shares his knowledge and experience with students as Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law where he teaches "Discovery Practice and Procedure" with United States Chief Magistrate Judge Paul Grimm, United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He has also lectured on the topic of civil procedure at the University of Maryland School of Law and Howard University Law School.
Attorney Fax was influenced to become a lawyer by his attorney grandfather, and also by reading Gideon's Trumpet by Anthony Lewis in the ninth grade. It is fitting that Mr. Fax is now a published author of legal texts that are read by promising legal students at major universities.
